Kuwait – Patriot Purchase

The Government of Kuwait is buying 60 MIM-104F PAC-3 Patriot medium/high altitude Surface-to-Air Missiles (SAMs).

Along with the missiles, Kuwait will receive 20 M901 missile launchers, and four Raytheon AN/MPQ-65 radars.

This purchase follows a similar acquisition by the country in 2010 for 209 MIM-104E PAC-2 Patriot SAMS.

Kuwait is thought to be especially concerned vis-à-vis Iran’s development and proliferation of ballistic missiles across the Persian Gulf.
